Huron County Sheriff’s Office – K-9 Unit

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit is primarily used as a investigative tool. Our K9 team has been extremely successful over the past years as partners to the deputies. These canines are trained and certified in narcotic detection, tracking, handler detection, building searches and patrol tactics.. Their handlers are also trained to be able to utilize the dogs to their fullest potential.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office currently has three canines. K9 Escobar “Esco”, works with Deputy Josh Young on Road Patrol,  K9 Creed works in the jail with Deputy Aaron Valle, and K9 Wren works with S.R.O. Deputy Lance Seaman in the schools.

Our K-9 unit is also utilized to appear at schools, club organizations and other public demonstrations to teach and educate the children and citizens.
